General Assignment Reporter
The Role
Bloomberg News is seeking an experienced reporter for coverage of the Indonesian economy and general assignment in our Jakarta bureau. The successful applicant will be able to write breaking news stories to meet real-time deadlines, as well as produce features on both business and general-interest topics ranging from company earnings to politics and natural disasters. Candidates should have proven reporting skills and be able to work in a team environment.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is essential
• Journalism qualification and experience is desirable
• At least 3 - 5 years of experience at a newspaper or news service agency
• Ability to break news under minimal supervision
• Ability to handle breaking news without neglecting daily tasks
• Ability to coordinate with colleagues and supervisors in other bureaus
• Fluency in Bahasa Indonesia is essential
